More needle felted animals :-)

I've started putting some little needle felted animals in my shop.

This little sleeping cat is the first - he's only about 3 x 3cm, and fast asleep :-)

And this labrador puppy will be going on next :-)

I'm still not sure about packaging though. Any ideas??

My creative space - needle felted westie

This little west highland terrier I needle felted for a friend, who has a westie. The core is lamb's wool, but the soft fluffy outer layer is made from hair from the actual westie in question. It worked very well!

The Greedy Crocodile on My Creative Space

Whenever Pia and I treat ourselves to something yummy and sticky, and eat it all up, usually without saving any for anyone else, Pia always says "we're being greedy crocodiles, aren't we"  -  and this is the Greedy Crocodile!

Though this greedy crocodile looks like it might need a bit more feeding up!

Displacement Activity

Remember this little chap? Here he is with a body, and arms and legs. He's turned out to be a little broad in the beam, but still cute :-)

And here are a couple of other things I made, fiddling around with different sorts of wool

This black cat is very difficult to take a photo of. I knew red was a tricky colour to photograph, and now I realise black is too....

Needless to say, while I've been tinkering about making these I should have been doing umpteen other, more important jobs...

More experiments with a needle!!

This time it's not been me doing the experimenting though.

Lovely wonderful Gina from FeltByGina sent me some bits of wool she doesn't want any more. We went to the post office to pick up the parcel (always very exciting) and as soon as we got home tiny Pia was itching to have a go with the needles. She's always wanted to, ever since she first saw a felting needle, but I've never been very confident about giving a tiny person such a delicate tool, especially when it doubles up as a lethal weapon! But this time she was just so desperate I decided to sacrifice a needle and let her have a proper go. She is four now, after all. And ten minutes later this is what she'd come up with!!!

She went for the electric pink like a homing pigeon, of course, and carefully selected black and green to make a flower.

Then she decided she had to make a dice (ok, die, tchah, pedants!!), again with the black. Such a nice contrast after all. With this one I did help a little bit to make into more of a cube shape.

So thank you Gina!!! For giving me a lovely bag of wool in all different colours, that I will get a lot of pleasure out of when I get a bit of time. And thank you for prompting me to trust the incredible dexterity of my four year old, thereby giving me a way of keeping her amused!!!
